Hot Air Welder Instruction Manual

The N2 Air Controller was specifically designed to easily convert Urethane Supply Company's 6053 E-Z Weld Hot Air Welder in to a nitrogen welding system. However, the N2 is ideally suited to convert ANY hot air welder that uses and external compressed air supply, into a nitrogen welder. The N2 Air Controller will allow you to conveniently switch from air to nitrogen with the push or pull of a knob.

Nitrogen plastic welding is the strongest and most reliable way to weld plastics because it shields the weld area with inert nitrogen gas. The shielding effect prevents oxygen in the air from oxidizing the melted plastic during the welding process, creating a stronger weld. In addition, you will find welding plastic to be easier, it will produce less smoke, and the weld will be cleaner looking, too.

Application:

Connect a 60 to 100 psi air and nitrogen to the control box, then connect it to your hot air welder's air input connection.
Adjust the air and nitrogen regulators so they read the same pressure.
Make sure the control knob is set for "air" and begin preheating you welder. When the welder reaches the desired operating temperature, adjust the airflow at the welder to a desired setting, switch to nitrogen, wait a few seconds for the nitrogen to purge the air out, then begin welding.
Switch back to air as soon as the weld is complete. Doing so will conserve your nitrogen supply and will prevent inadvertant loss of air flow to the heating element, should your nitrogen supply become exhausted.
