Fast Patch
Urethane Supply Company's FAST PATCH is a technologically advanced, self-adhesive repair material designed to repair quickly tears, holes and other damage to plastic parts. When heat is applied to the patch, it can be formed into the shape of the repair area. Once cool, the patch material hardens into its new shape to provide additional support to the repair. The net result is a stronger repair with superior peel resistance compared to competitive products.
For shelf visibility and affordability, the panels are individually packed in a graphically pleasing hangable clamshell. The 2700-1 kit contains enough material to complete two average size repairs. A bulk 10 pack kit of FAST PATCH is also available for those doing frequent repairs.

Application Procedure
This repair procedure is for typical repairs to holes and tears that would occur on plastic parts like bumpers, fenders, trim panels and other cosmetic plastic parts.
- Wash surface to be repaired with soap and water. Dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
- Clean surface with the Super Clean Plastic Cleaner wipe according to directions on the pouch (blue label).
- Sand surface with 180 grit sandpaper if the part is oxidized or has protrusions that would interfere with the adhesive bond. If the part is painted, sand until the bare plastic is showing wherever the patch will go.
- Coat surface with the Plastic Magic Adhesion Promoter wipe according to the directions on the pouch (purple label).
- Allow Plastic Magic to dry completely (about 15 minutes under normal conditions.)
- Trim FAST PATCH. Mark the area to be trimmed off on the black side of the patch. Cut off excess patch material with scissors and save for future repairs. For maximum strength, be sure to overlap the repair by about 1.5 inches (4 cm) on each side. A paper template can be made if the repair area is irregular or follows a complex shape.
- Heat the black side of the FAST PATCH with a heat gun until it begins to curl and becomes flexible. If no heat gun is available, bake in an oven at 200°F (95°C) until flexible. If no oven is available, it is possible to heat the patch sufficiently using radiant heat from an intense heat source. Do NOT overheat the patch or it will become too hot to touch and may ruin the patch.
- Quickly peel off the red film from the adhesive side of the patch.
- Press the patch into place, shaping to the desired contour. Continue rubbing the patch down until it is cool. If additional shaping is required, reheat the patch in place and continue to work the patch until it conforms to the desired shape.
- Allow the repair to cool completely before placing the part into service. If no cosmetic work is to be done, then the repair is complete.
- For cosmetic repairs on the front side of automotive parts, simply follow the repair procedures outlined in "The Book of Plastic Repair."
Helpful Hints
- For maximum adhesion when repairing polyethylene, sand the surface with 180 grit sandpaper before applying Plastic Magic.
- When doing a cosmetic repair, it's best to bevel the edges on the cosmetic side of the repair to provide a smooth transition between the base material and the filler material. Also, apply Plastic Magic to the cosmetic side before applying adhesive fillers. This will give them better adhesion and will help the edges of the repair feather nicely when sanded.
- 5003R10 Fiber-Flex welding rod is compatible with the FAST PATCH material and normal application procedures should be followed if using it for the cosmetic side of the repair.
Storage:
- Store at room temperature. When stored at the recommended temperature away from direct sunlight, FAST PATCH has a shelf life of appoximately 12 months.
Health and Safety:
- Wear protective gloves when using the Super Clean Plastic Cleaner and Plastic Magic. Use in a well ventilated area. See MSDS for additional info.
- After heated, FAST PATCH will be HOT. Use appropriate precautions to prevent burns while applying the hot FAST PATCH to any substrate.
